Standing in a Soundbox...

Standing in a Soundbox...is exactly how I felt when I was standing on Lake Louise, AB all by myself. It was like I could hear my thoughts out loud, and nothing else. Not even the sound of a winter creature. It was one of the rare moments in my life that I could feel, see, and hear peace. Nothing but peace. No noise, no conflict, no trouble, no drama, no problems. It was like time was standing still and I could regain my balance before stepping out of this box. Before stepping back into the real world.

The Night is Darkest before the Dawn...

The night is darkest before the dawn...and when it is dawn, its beautiful and bright. A lot of times, before we can see the beauty, we see the ugly and go through the darkest moments.  We fall so hard, that we think there is nothing else that can be done to make things better. Things will always remain gloom, dark and you begin to question your existance. But there is a reason and a purpose. You just need to look very hard inwards, to grab hold of that flicker of light, and pull it to the surface of yourself. Because you have the strength to get back up, dust yourself off, and continue down the road of unknown. And at the end of that road, the light will shine bright.

Childhood Memories...

Childhood Memories...Sometimes I come across random items that remind me of my childhood. This Sailormoon umbrella reminded me of when I was living in Hong Kong and how it would be my 'must watch cartoon' as soon as I got home from school. It was a huge part of my childhood while I was in Hong Kong, a place I use to call my primary home. It is still my home, but now my secondary home. When you are younger, you tend to adapt to change a lot easier, and learn to pick up things just like that (so thankful I lived in Hong Kong or else my Cantonese would be horrendous).  As you get older, you gain a lot of experience and knowledge, but other things start to fade. Is that the case for you?

What is your favourite childhood cartoon show?

Domestication...

Domestication...is not automatically included in the 'whole package' these days. I confess that I never took 'home ec' in high school because my school didn't offer it. The closest to sewing I ever did was awkwardly sewing back together my dog's toys. No wait, I hemmed my school uniform skirt, but that was decades ago...who has to wear uniforms now?! I must say though, sewing is fun. Heck, learning something new is pretty fun. And it's only fun when you make it fun. Next on the purchase list, a sewing machine :)

Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time...when iphone 4s, blackberrys, mac books, PS3s, PVRs and anything with the lower case 'e' in front of it did not exist, how did people entertain themselves? Communicate with each other? We are so dependent on our pieces of technology now, that if we ever lost it, it would be like losing our life for oh...a while until you got your next phone and installed all your contacts, music, photos, apps and emails back. I really miss the old fashion way of writing letters to each other and snail mailing them off to loved ones. I use to love checking the mail everyday. Now, I dread it. Maybe instead of emailing someone, get up and go talk to them in person. I know it is hard. So lets take it slow. Baby steps in moving...backwards...

Marriage on a Fridge...

Marriage on a Fridge...I'm not going to indulge in the whole marriage talk here. But what I do want to say is, more and more people around me are getting married these days, and  it is amazing to be able to experience these sacred ceremonies. Have you been to a wedding lately?

Why So Orange...

Why So Orange...not much to say here except that good Hong Kong style milk tea is strong in taste and in colour. Just like this one. If I drink milk tea, it has got to be Hong Kong style. Enough said.

I Miss You...

I Miss You...I'm not referring to a person here. I'm referring to this delicious Prosciutto Crudo pizza I had while I was in Calgary. It was absolutely to die for. I have not had a pizza back here in Toronto that is even close to this. I can't stop thinking about it and crave it often. This would definitely be the most expensive pizza I have if I decide I just need to have it and can no longer wait until the next time rolls around.
